Türkiye Inflation Falls for Third Month

Türkiye's annual CPI inflation eased to 31.51% in August 2026, from 31.75% in July, marking the third consecutive monthly decline. The rate has now fallen from 32.95% a year earlier, though it remains well below the all-time high of 125.89% recorded in January 1995. The current level is also far above the series low of -3.03% seen in November 1960. The latest print continues a gradual cooling trend observed since mid-2025, with the index fluctuating between roughly 30.65% and 32.61% over the past year, according to the International Monetary Fund.
