Terms of Use

The website located at economicsapi.com (the "Site") is owned and operated by EconomicsAPI ("EconomicsAPI," "we," "us" or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Site and our API and console (together with the Site, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself or the entity you represent, and you confirm you have authority to do so. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

1. Accounts and API keys

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials and API keys confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your API keys. Notify us immediately at hello@economicsapi.com of any unauthorized use.

2. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service:

• to process data you do not have the right to process, or in violation of applicable law (including privacy law);
• to attack, disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users;
• to build a competing product using our outputs;
• to submit content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringing.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create security or billing risk.

3. API service terms

Your subscription plan and included usage allowances are described on our pricing page and in your account console. Usage beyond included allowances is billed at the rates disclosed there. We may apply rate limits and quota enforcement to protect the Service. We target high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service; the Service is provided for operational support and should not be your sole control for high-risk decisions. You are solely responsible for decisions and actions you take based on Service output.

4. Fees and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis via our payment processor (Stripe). Fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; price changes take effect at your next renewal.

5. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Service, including models, documentation, and software. You retain all rights in the data you submit through the API. You may not copy, resell, or sublicense the Service except as expressly permitted.

6. Feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or attribution.

7. Confidentiality

Non-public information about the Service that we designate as confidential must be used only to exercise your rights under these Terms and not disclosed to third parties.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER PARTY WILL BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR REVENUES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

10. Indemnification

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service for material breach (with notice where practicable) or where required by law. Sections 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 survive termination.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of France, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. The parties will attempt good-faith resolution for 30 days before commencing proceedings, which will take place in the courts located in France. Either party may seek injunctive relief for infringement or misuse of intellectual property at any time.

13. Changes

We may modify these Terms with notice through the Service or email at least 30 days before changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
