Belgium's business confidence index fell to -16.2 in August 2026 from -16.0 in July, according to Eurostat. The reading marks the third consecutive monthly decline and the lowest index value since January 2025. The August print remains well below the all-time high of 7.0 recorded in July 2021 and is still far above the series low of -34.3 from January 1993. A year earlier, in August 2025, the index stood at -11.2.
