France consumer confidence fell to -17.8 in August from -16.9 in July, snapping a two-month improvement. The index had climbed from -21.8 in April to -16.9 in July. At -17.8, it was above the -18.5 level from a year ago and well above the all-time low of -22.3 recorded in September 2022. The series began in January 1985 and has been negative since 2022. The all-time high was 1.9 in January 2001, according to Eurostat.
