Malta's consumer confidence index fell to 2.9 in August from 6.2 in July, marking a second consecutive monthly decline. The reading remained above the 2.0 recorded in August 2025. Within the past year, the index peaked at 13.9 in June and bottomed at 1.8 in March. It stayed well above its all-time low of -35.6 from May 2012 and below its all-time high of 16.1 from February 2018, according to Eurostat.
