Business confidence in Portugal fell to -5 in August, from -4.2 in July. The reading is the lowest since October 2025 and compares with -2.9 a year earlier. The index has been in negative territory since August 2025. Despite the decline, it remains well above the all-time low of -38.6 recorded in May 2020. The decline extends the recent downward trend, according to Eurostat.
