Slovakia's business confidence index fell to -13 in August 2026 from 1.4 in July, its lowest level since July 2023. The reading marked a sharp decline from 5.7 a year earlier and turned negative after a surplus in the prior month. The index remains well above its all-time low of -50.5 recorded in April 2020, according to Eurostat.
