The Thai baht strengthened to 33.01 per dollar in August 2026, from 33.49 in July. This reversed part of the previous month's decline and brought the currency back toward the mid-range of the past year, after touching 31.27 in February—its firmest level since at least early 2025. The baht remains well above its record low of 53.81 set in January 1998, according to the International Monetary Fund.
